The Amazon rainforest -- one of the oldest darlings of environmental activists -- has a new prescription for protection that couldn't have been possible in the early days of its plight. The Brazilian government recently announced that they will make free satellite internet available to native Indian tribes throughout the Amazon region as a way to enhance monitoring, management and conservation efforts.
Making knowledge accessible to all helps solve problems, and prevents loss of knowledge -- tbuitenh

Indeed, well said. It may seem like we're tainting their culture by introducing our machines to them, even if they offer access to the whole universe of human knowledge and communication, but if they accept this (that is, it isn't force on them) it can only be a good thing in the end.
The currently unconnected cultures probably have some wisdoms to share, but don't get to share it with the world because they're not online. Now they too get a chance to enlighten us.

Indeed.
About "tainting a culture": I think this should be left for the members of that culture to decide. They are people, not a protected species of animal that should be kept in a reserve where humans can't touch it.
