Hey all, this is the first post of elitelinux.org. I am Andrew Barber the site admin, but all the moderators will have access to this blog (shared password)

So, we got hacked last night and sadly we dont have a very recent backup. Well, it is a few days old. We have the posts backed up, but not the users.

PhpBB is weak, and is ful of flaws I know notice. It is bad code, but I still like it. Myself and James the moderator have been talking about the direction of the site.

We have come to a conclusion.

I was working on my next site anyway, but why not intergrate them while i have the time? We both decided that we should have more than forums, its just finding what hasnt been done.

We also decided to get it all working, then lauch it. Non of this one site at a time. So we were brainstorming.

I am gonna post this on the forum, once I have fixed it. Or atleast the ideas.

My current plans are to look into a few GPL'd/GNU software solutions that cna be edited. And see if they spark inspiration. I will put the forums back up to keep the audience coming. But I am gonna stop support for just now, and rather have James and Steve be admins. Once my final ideas are being implemented I am going to re-take over the forums and add in my new ideas.

While I say my ideas. People are more than welcome to suggest a feature. Infact I would love it. Gives me less thinking.

I would say that one site is done, and others will follow.

Ideas basically are;

A page introducing them to elitelinux who we are, what we do....And a global log in(ah didnt see that one!)

Gnux, the news feed for the site, and based on redit(the one that is done)

Forums, these are done, but I will be re-doing them, from scratch. I dont know if they will always be phpBB based due to lack of intergration.

Images, a place for desktops that are made by users to be uploaded and rated.

A wiki type site for help with hardware. Once a member has been helped we add the help to a wiki, creating a massive base of wisdom. Where to get the drivers, how to use it, etc

A man directory. Sounds dirty eh! Basic shit, a massive man list. Already been done but proves useful.

Infact alot of these have been done, but I think when i start devloping they will totally change from my original idea.

I really need your input, as you can see im not good at ideas.
