Dear member,

Sharing the free music values via your testimonials
----------

Lately we began to conduct some interviews with Jamendo's artists and users.
Available on the blog this set of testimonials has the scope to show the big picture of our shared values by the growing community of the listeners and free music users. These interviews will dig out the groove towards the Internet users and artists? desires to join up with our community thanks to a direct testimony. Lionel from the ?Music for Cap? group as well as Conley (http://blog.jamendo.com/index.php/2007/09/18/jamendo-testimonials/) (a Jamendo user) from the Virginia Tech campus (Massachusetts) have initiated this important action and their videos are currently available on the Jamendo blog.

We're calling for your involvement if you wish to leave your thoughts and ideas (be that testimonials, advice or comments).

Please drop me an e- mail to

. All contributions are more than welcome. Hope to read you soon.

The Netherlands are starting a pilot project that could interfere with the established rules
----------

An agreement has recently been signed between Buma Stemra (the Dutch collecting society -equivalent to the ASCAP or BMI) and the Dutch Creative Commons antenna managed by Paul Keller.
This pilot project allows artists registered with Buma/Stemra to use three NC (Non Commercial) licenses from Creative Commons and similarly to artists under Creative Commons licences to join Buma/Stemra. Previously, an artist was not allowed to publish at the same time their work freely on the net for non commercial use whilst being registered at the same time (in a collective society that would manage the commercial use of its work).

An interview of Paul Keller regarding this project is available on the Jamendo blog (http://blog.jamendo.com/index.php/2007/09/17/paul-kellers-interview-creative-commons/)

A new generation for the albums downloaded from jamendo !
----------

According to your comments and recommendations, mp3 files now contain more information.

Besides the traditional pieces of information such as the name and lenght of a track, the artist's name, the album and covert's name, our developers added some more stuff: the lyrics of the songs, and the type of Creative Commons licenses related to your music. You will also have a usefull link to the Creative Commons webpage. where you can get all the information you need about those licenses.
Moreover, the albums downloaded from Jamendo now only have one single « read me » file for 15 different languages.

All those improvements are from now on available and can be enjoyed with every type of common mp3 music player like iTunes or Winamp.

Jamendo's team is getting bigger !

Thanks to innovative and fitting solutions for broadcasting on the web environment, we hope that this new team will allow independent artists to gain the assistance they really deserve as well as getting the opportunity of becoming acquainted throughout the world.

We think it?s a really great opportunity for the music free development.
