If there is any reason why Blip.tv is better than YouTube then that's the fact that they offer a direct download of videos through their alternate video format drop down box.

This way you don't necessarily need flash to play a video, and you don't need any scripts (like youtube-dl) to extract the flash video file either (.flv). They offer it themselves.
