3 posts and a moderator already? that is REALLY quick!

Hehe... yeah it's quick. But we know from IRC so i trust him. I'm sure he'll increase the numbers fairly soon. ;-)

I see. I thought either there had been a database corruption, or you guys already knew each other.
It's your site, so make whoever you like a moderator, but do realize sudden appearances of moderators can make some people angry. There might be someone in the forums slowly building a reputation and hoping to get asked for this honorary post. Yeah, that's right, honorary post. It's not like the moderators have any work to do here, is it?

You are right.. this was too sudden. I apologize to anyone who could be offended in any way about it.

Since there is still a thread about becoming a moderator linked in the menus (Your Support/Become A Moderator) calling for people interested in becoming one, i was pretty open to anyone asking to become a mod and likely granting that request based on my evaluation of my trust in that person. If i know him well enough to believe he'd do no harm, but only good for the community i'm usually trustful. The purpose of moderators here is not just to keep everything clean where indeed there's not too much to do cause we don't have much spam or maliciousness to clean up, it is also to keep the activity going. Sdousley said he could get the hardware forum moving a bit and so i granted him a position.

But that's just an explanation of my reasons above, nothing else. I am aware of the fact that moderators should be people of influence and good reputation and that a new user becoming a mod lacks both of that. Therefore, i'm leaving it to you to choose weather sdousley should keep his position or not.

It's my site yes, but it's a site which would be nothing without you. Therefore, anyone who wishes that sdousley don't be a mod here, please feel free to say so, i'll comply to your will.

Also, everyone who wishes to become a moderator, please don't be afraid to ask. You can PM me or get to me via our IRC channel.

Next time, i will be more careful.

It doesn't matter this time 'round, but just give the community some time to accept new members, and perhaps accept that they can enforce rules as well, if they are made mods, for next the next time.
