Hello LakerDonald,
it's good to soo you back here!
I have a few questions about Jedi/GNU Linux:
-what is the distro it is based upon (would this be Debian)
-what's the hardware detection soft (discover, kudzu...)
-what's the intended goal of Jedi (desktop, server, general, security, etc.)
-what's the default desktop environment?

Thanks and of course, may the Force be with you!!!

Reply and discuss here..

Thanks
Daniel

Re: Jedi/GNU

Hey, thanks for taking interest!

-Jedi/GNU Linux is based off of no distribution; I took the toolchain, performed some black magic, and it's working!
-The installer is my own installation/control center program called the Jedi/GNU cockpit (keeping the spacey theme).
-The purpose of Jedi/GNU Linux is to create a source-based distribution without the bureaucratic overhead of dealing with Gentoo. It's supposed to be stable, lightweight, and adaptable.
-There is no default desktop environment, as the user selects all the packages on his/her own. There are/will be certain classes of packages, and that idea could be easily extended to the installation process ( I.E. a KDE class, or a Server Class, etc.)

I hope this answered some of your questions!
Cheers,
Andy
