Mozdex + Kozoru = Future
What would it be like if you could search the internet by just asking questions instead of putting keywords in? Well, kozoru, which has recently been "banned by google" aims to make this possible, or at least that was its original plan until apparenlty big business shut them off (like the lovely google).
However, isn't there hope? Even if big and well known search engines refuse to cooperate wouldn't it be possible to cooperate with mozdex, an open search engine that infact encourages building upon it and innovating? Maybe mozdex could work with kozoru to actually make this happen mutually helping each other.
Kozoru needs a search engine that they can interface their technology with in order to enable "searching like you think" and mozdex needs a bigger index and attention. Working together, kozoru get's a partner in a search engine open to cooperation on such a great idea while helping mozdex grow its index as well as get some serious attention for doing something near-revolutionary as is this.
The result would be something incredible. Internet users would have a choice between normal mozdex search by keywords (still maybe most reliable at first and what they used to) and mozdex based kozoru search (which probably wont be as good at first, but will grow in efficiency as it is improved through time).
Of course, in that it would be a great idea, I would say essential even, for kozoru to have all its source code liberated. Then this coexistence can be full as both would be powered by Free Software.
What do you think? What does Byron and mozdex guys think?
Thank you

Sounds like a great idea, they're probably looking for something like this after being banned from Google.

Yes. I've read some more around kozoru founder's blog and some other blogs that reffered to him and he seems to have raised some controversy himself as well as quite some criticism. Not everyone seems to believe that he actually invented such a search solution or at least that he didn't play it out right with companies like google.
One of the main concerns is that he blogs everything publically, even details from meetings with google, apple etc. which I can imagine can get these companies a bit annoyed. I don't really mind that so much since I'm all for that kind of openess myself, but maybe there was a chance he just might have positioned his postings better in time, as in not rushed to post so quickly. It might have turned many potential partners down.
Anyway I still think that the way google and even apple behaved in his situation is still not justifiable in any, but the unjustifiable way. They either seen too much of a threat in his technology or wanted to take a peak, absorb as much ideas as they could and then run off with it to release a new similar technology in the future when world just forgets about kozoru.
So, while you might find the guy slightly weird, or better said, unordinary, I think that pursuing some kind of partnership wouldn't be a bad idea at all. If he is just willing to open up to that kind of cooperation (as he so far only seemed to have looked directly at big corporations even seeking potential acquirers) it could be great.
It sounds an interesting idea...
True, since mozdex wouldn't ban them from doing this they could do that right away.
Possibilities are endless if they'd cooperate further though, yes. It may even lead to some kind of "packagegod" implementation you were talking about on nuxified.org (package manager you can ask questions). :-)
Sounds like an interesting idea. It would be nice to see the project get off the ground... and even nicer if they ever release their code.
Yeah, i wouldn't mind giving them data. Mozdex's openness doesn't stop with how you access us
(yes, i have a windows, mac and a few linux and even sun machines so i use 'em all to access and develop mozdex on)
