neat gadget: black dog

There is a contest for finding an interesting use for this thing. It's a bit late to enter now, though.

What I would do is make it pretend to be a normal usb storage device that automatically signs/checks/encrypts/decrypts any file you put on it using gpg. For example if you would put a file in /sign+encrypt/host/user and then touch the fingerprint scanner, the file would be signed and encrypted such that only you and user@host can decrypt it. Similar for /sign/ , /check/ , /encrypt/host/user and /decrypt/ .
The reasons to do gpg stuff this way is that noone could possibly steal your private key by hacking into your normal computer (never in my life would I put my private key on a windows box), and fingerprint authentication is just great.
