Replacing featured news on homepage with latest forum topics?
OfflineI haven't been updating featured news lately. I haven't been crawling the news so much either, and this is a good save of time to be honest. So I'm thinking of just replacing the homepage section that was dedicated to it with the latest forum topics.
Featured news can still be updated, but not necessarily as frequently, only with some really important things when it's better to link it that way than through forum topics.
The whole site as it is, is going to be only one corner of the new Libervis.com whose planning is ongoing/pending, a "soapbox" corner, for open discussions and original articles, not necessarily news that you can get elsewhere anyway..
Instead of having featured news perhaps it'd be better to improve the automated news feeding capabilities instead and let users pick out what they find most important, something that can be discussed here.

That makes sense, a lot of people want to get right to surfing the latest forum wave, while others don't care if a live discussion is on, and want to read well thought out articles on long term strategic issues.
