Map of Freedom in the World (2007 Edition)
Submitted by libervisco on Mon, 2008-03-10 01:23. Tags:Someone accidentally posted this link in an IRC channel and since I was curious I checked it out. It's a pretty nice and functional map of freedom in the world, mapping countries in three categories: not free, partly free and free.
From a quick survey of the map it looks like the half of the world, and counting such highly populated places like China, even more than half live without essential freedoms, which is quite sad.

Free software founder sits down for "multidimensional" interview
Submitted by libervisco on Sun, 2007-02-04 23:17. Tags:Here is the most recent audio interview with Richard Stallman. In it he introduces the basics of the Free Software philosophy, but in a further discussion also explains some other interesting things such as the fact that Free Software is actually more in accord with the free market capitalism than proprietary software, the reduction of freedom that is going on in the world (specifically mentioned US and UK) and also Stallmans motivations for advocating freedom.
It is an excellent easy to listen interview. Ogg is available here.
