not sure yet if I will go back to ion or not...

I found out ion knows what to do with the xfce panel: it puts it in the dock. So now I do have a system tray in ion :) . If you want to try this, be sure to add everything (plugins) that you want to the panel BEFORE you switch to ion, or you will meet a little bug. Of course the system tray icons can be added dynamically, no prob. Now I still have to find a workaround to make firefox behave properly. I know what to do but not how yet...
