Woot! My own live journal!

I finally got my live journal - and you could get one too. They're free, and for a wee bit of money you can upgrade them to get some extra features here-and-there. I like it a lot, especially since you can get an OS client for Linux for it to upload entries, that even hides in your task bar!

W00T!

Use my sig link to get to it. Comment there or here, where-ever applicable. :-D :-) :-D

If the area around my avatar is dark gray chances are you are using MS Internet Explorer, one of the few browsers that do not have full PNG-24 support. Considered trying [url=http://bro

I've been having an LJ account for a while. I don't update it very often though.

Here is the link.

Btw, I added you to my "Friends List", too.

Cool. Added. You said you haven't updated for a while - yes you have.

Anyone else - feel free to get a live journal.

My lj is inactive at the moment. Here's the URL anyway.

Re: Woot! My own live journal!

Hmm.. i thought of adding the same system that powers livejournal (it's called the same i believe) to libervis.com to replace the blogs we have here. However, there's an integrations problem. You wouldn't be able to use your existing libervis username and password for it, but a separate one.

Anyhow, maybe you think that was a good idea. It is a great system and if added to libervis.com, all options would be free (no charge for extra) :-)

Thanks
Daniel

And there are programs out there that interface with the Live journal. They hide on the KDE and Gnome taskbar and don't require you to access tyour blog/journal. And they are OS as well... :-)

Re: Woot! My own live journal!

Hmm.. i think i should seriously consider trying it out then...

Segphault just asked about software that will interface with blog and others have also asked for many other lacking features.. we could solve all that with livejournal except one thing - integration with xoops, but maybe we could manage to get that as well eventually....

Thx
Dan

Well I am sure we could find an able-bodied php programmer somewhere, given a wee bit of time?

Maybe advertise for one, or some such method...
I would like to see this... :-)

Of course.. we can do it.. As libervis and it's popularity grows i think there might be some programmers interested to give this a go. It can be a challenge, a learning (brushing up) experience and a nice boost in their reputation in the community.

Besides livejournal i will look at some other blogging systems that might be good and try them out as well. I will post a thread about pros and cons (and links to example sites) and let this community decide what will be the best, for both integration and in regard to features.

Thank you
Daniel

Look at what modules tikiwiki have to offer. Sorry, I forgot the site, and don't have it bookmarked - just something I picked up at a PCUG (PC User Group) meeting.
