As of today, I am now officially declared a Fellow of the Free Software Foundation Europe. I just got the email today. I hope I won't die of excitement whilst waiting for my shiny crypto card.

Time to open up a Belhaven Best and celebrate :-)

Cheers,
Dominik

Re: Yay!

Mmmh, although I reside in Australia - I am nevertheless still German. Can I join as a European, yet not live there?

If the area around my avatar is dark gray chances are you are using MS Internet Explorer, one of the few browsers that do not have full PNG-24 support. Considered trying [url=http://bro

Re: Yay!

Well, I did not find any information on the fsfe website that restricted membership to particular countries. On the contrary, the application form explicitly allows for an abundance of countries, Australia included.

You can use Paypal to pay the membership fee, so that should not be a problem either. It may cost you some money to convert $AU to uros, though. Paypal is not exactly cheap for transactions involving more than one currency.

However, at that stage one should decide if there are local organisations who could benefit from some money, as well. I don't know if the FSF has a chapter in Australia but if not there are probably organisations with an Agenda similiar to that of the FSF you could get involved with.

Cheers,
Dominik

Might look in to it a wee bit later then. Smiling
